The Moor is one of the main shopping streets of Sheffield. Along its length lie some of the most popular stores, and it was one of the primary retail cores of the city centre. One of the main department stores is Atkinsons which is family owned and been in the heart of the city for 138 years. The shops along it were rebuilt in the 1950s following damage in World War II, and in the late 1970s the street was pedestrianised. The area is due for regeneration with the building of the new Market Complex soon.
